Pregnancy and Lactation Information

Lexicomp has developed the Pregnancy & Lactation database to offer in-depth, detailed content on drug use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. This evolving database reviews the most commonly-used drugs for women of reproductive age and pregnant women. Medication-related information addressed in this resource includes pregnancy issues related to the fetus/infant and mother, supported by data from both human and animal studies. In addition, the database also provides detailed information on how much drug enters breast milk and, subsequently, reaches the infant. Monographs may also include a Pregnancy Registry contact information field and a Selected Readings section that lists the clinical guidelines related to the use of the drug in pregnant women.

Briggs' Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation

Featuring content from the highly respected Briggs’ Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation, this database complements our proprietary Pregnancy & Lactation database and increases the breadth and depth of information related to medication safety and appropriate drug use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Featuring more than 1,000 monographs, the Briggs’ database provides information on a drug’s pharmacologic category and summaries of precautions and appropriate uses related to pregnancy, fetal risk, and breast-feeding. It also includes pregnancy and breast-feeding recommendations with links to definitions and in-line reference links to PubMed.

Drug Allergy and Idiosyncratic Reactions

Drug Allergy and Idiosyncratic Reactions addresses drug allergies, including reactions by drug class, considerations when managing patients with reported allergies, and more. This innovative database is based on integration of scientific and clinical literature and offers unique insight on allergic mechanisms, concepts and categorizations. In addition, this database discusses idiosyncratic reactions which may be confused with allergy, either due to clinical presentation or patient-reported events. As a result of this alliance, Lexicomp Online features drug eruption content from VisualDx, integrated directly into relevant monographs within the Lexi-Drugs® core drug information database, as well as access to the VisualDx Differential Builder directly from the Lexicomp Online user interface. VisualDx content includes images and data to help identify drug-induced conditions of the skin, helps clinicians identify appropriate ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes, and provides additional related information, such as supportive patient care and therapy options.
